Ms. Daniele Gates is currently a U.S. and World History teacher. Her son, Thomas Vaethroeder, is an 11- year-old actor. In Kindergarten, he played the gingerbread man and he loved it. Since then, he has been on TV shows like “Made in Jersey” and other shows and commercials for toys, pizza and Chucky Cheese as well as being an animated voice of a character for Nickelodeon. He wants to pursue a career in acting but also thinks that school is very important. His favorite actor is Adam Sandler.

Together, they have traveled to England, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, the Netherlands, Germany, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Ms. Gates grew up in West Islip, N.Y. and enjoys Bikram yoga on weekends to relax. She says she loves teaching teens because they are open to learning new ideas and naturally argumentative.

She said she enjoyed 90s hip-hop while growing up because it was something she could go home to, listen to and rock out on while forgetting about all her worries. In high school, her favorite class was English and her favorite memory is in her senior year when her best friend got a convertible and they drove to the beach together every day during their school lunch.
